Starting early

Aidan looks so much bigger than before.  Not that he's very old now, but I'm already missing his 'smaller' form.

My councilor from church recommends the young parents to start developing reading habits of their kids.  So we're trying to start early... =P

With a firmer body, Aidan can now sit on mommy's lap longer and pay a bit more attention to the reading.

And with his increased coordination, he now finds more enjoying duirng his reading time.  That is, helping flipping the page. =)

Of course, he can't actually do that yet, so it's mommy flipping the page for him most of the time.

Busy week, busy year

This week is a busy and tiring week.  Work, training, business and church are tightly packed.

And this year is another year of weddings.  This year I'll have 3 weddings to go to, which is good, as I'd have more opportunities to wedding photography, something that I long for doing.

But before the weddings, I'd need to continue to sharpen my photography skills.  And my family will continue to be my 'target practice'.  =P

This is certainly one expression I don't get too often.  Not that he rarely has this expression, it's just that I don't usually take picture of this kind of expression.

Aidan also had a chance to stare at the spring daylight from the house.  And boy, he must be amazed how small he is compare to the world. =)

Since mom and Aidan are sitting near a window, I get to practice my natural light shooting too.  Natural directional light is the best!

After some sight-seeing, Aidan goes back to his business of toys ...

Quality time with mom ...

And his daily tummy-time!

Grandma's aura

It must be years and years of training as a mom.  While grandpa is building up his aura, grandma seems to have a magical aura around her.

And Aidan gets really fascinated whenever grandma plays with him.

Just last Saturday, Aidan was like watching a comedy and couldn't stop laughing when grandma was around.

And it was the first time I heard Aidan making so much noise when laughing for sooooo long!

Even when we hold him with his back facing the other way, he actually turns his head towards grandma and returns with a sweet laugh, as if he couldn't get enough of grandma.

Of course, that is also because of mommy's incredible job of keeping Aidan well rested and fed before grannies visit.  =)

Excessive cheek

I think parents' happiness is directly proportional to the amount of fat/meat that their baby carries.  It certainly is the case for me and mommy.

Aidan had his latest weight measured at around 15.5 lbs last week.

When I took the above picture, I can't stop smiling because of his excessive cheek getting pulled by gravity.  =)

And it certainly is enjoyable to have this warm pile of fat/flesh in my arms.  But most of the time I'll be holding a camera instead of him.  =P

Last Friday my fellowship was celebrating the 1-month old b-day of my friend's baby girl too.  Even though the b-day girl and family wasn't there, we still have an opportunity to have the 'traditional red eggs'.

And ginger too!

Waiting for bath

Compare to adults, Aidan has a far earlier sleeping schedule.  He usually gets quite sleepy at around dinner time.  But this is when I usually go home nowadays.

So, whenever it is bath day, he'll have to wait for me to wash him up before going to bed.  And this is usually when I get this 'air head' expression.  And he looked so bored.  Still very cute in my opinion, because of his all rounded feature =P

But when he's actually in bath, he'll look much more alive.  Bathing is like a personal spa for him.  Massage from mommy, then a washing session from Daddy.  =)

Mood swing

I've just noticed that I've my first follower of my blog.  I know there are more people reading my posts.  But having that one friend following the blog makes me that much more encouraged to update it consistently. =)

As usual, grandma and grandpa visited on the weekend.  And it's been some time since they're able to see Aidan because he was having his nap when grannies were visiting for the past few weeks.

So they treasure their moments to take some pictures too.

Aidan still need some time to warm up with the grannies, as he doesn't see them very much.  But grandma must have some inner magic.  It doesn't take long to get Aidan all hyped up!  =)

After the grannies are gone, Aidan goes back to his usual exploration.  He can do a lot more with his toys now, grabbing and hitting ...

One thing fantastic about baby is their innocence.  There's no lying and pretending at all.  Whenever Aidan is hungry, he'll cry.

Whenever he sees excitements (in this case, me. =P), he'll laugh.

Seeing myself could have such positive effect on him always make me ... happy.

And that is why I got charged up every time I see him.  =)

Oh, btw, I just got a new flash, and I'm deeply enjoying it. =P

One Saturday session

While I won't have much chance practicing my shots during weeknights, weekend becomes my prime time.

Mommy has developed a new way to motivate Aidan for his tummy-time.  That is, have the tummy-time takes place in front of a mirror.

Aidan seems to like it ...

and this extends his attention span to look up.

Because of that, I have a bit more time to set up some 'spotlight' photo. =P

I'm glad mommy found this new entertainment for Aidan, and he enjoys it tremendously, it seems.

Of course, when Aidan is happy ...

Mommy is happy too!

Still, Aidan is only a baby, so he doesn't have much endurance for prolonged entertainment.  So I have to use the remain time to shoot some mom & babe shot.

And by the time I shoot this one, Aidan is withering away... =P

Before I go, here's the last one of the post.  Enjoy!

The two people I missed most every day

That should be pretty obvious.  =P

This is one of my most favorite pictures recently.  I love the light, the color, and the subjects.  Too bad I ain't in it.  Otherwise it'll be a very good family portrait.

But again, if I'm in it, the picture may not look as good.  =P

I still can't resist his face...

I pass!

Yippee!  I finally got my exam result yesterday and passed my 1st exam!  =)

This completes my 1st phase of study towards my new found goal, helping people to save money for retirement.

It's a new found direction during my last 2 months of job search.  And by having a full time job in a s/w company (which I'm enjoying tremendously so far), I can proceed to this new found goal with the right motivation.  Of course, I wouldn't mind earning extra money to feed my cute baby (and lovely wife), and continue funding my hobby of taking pictures of God created world, and Aidan.  =)

OK, enough said about me.  Here are the next batch of pictures...

I sneaked in to Aidan's bedroom and snap it with a flash pointing to the wall.  I personally love the directional light.  And this is something I'm still learning.  Of course, the model and gesture makes this photo even more beautiful.

Aidan's ability to sleep overnight is also due to his sleep buddy.

He's currently learning to hug, grab, pull, and scratch his buddy now.  Capturing these treasure moments will be my next project.

Now that Aidan can lift his head without much difficulty, we're now trying encourage him to sit.

He still can't do it consistently yet, so you'll notice him being surrounded by cushions.  And of course, toys for his encouragement.  =P
