Finally, after 3 years of homeschooling, Aidan’s first day of official school has finally come! Since this is a historical moment (according to my definition, at least), I hope you don’t mind a longer than usual post.
Our story goes back to the day before, when Aidan already had fun packing his school bag. Oh, allow me to correct myself, Aidan already had fun packing his OVERSIZE school bag!
Look at the size of that thing, and look at this goofy kid! He can’t even stand up straight! And his lunch isn’t even in his bag yet. Well, at least he had fun. =P
Back to present time …
Looking at his water bottle, thinking about the first time he was using it, and now he’s going to school with the same water bottle. Oh my dear son, you don’t know how much I miss all the good old times!
And how much I missed your chubby face. Don’t get me wrong, you’re still very cute. You’ll always be the second most handsome male ever (of course, the guy who produced you will always be the first, by formula =P)!
Meet the teacher …
and Aidan’s future new friends.
Aww …
Here we have our special moment of the day! Being almost the youngest in his class, Aidan was the slowest putting his shoes on. Well, to be fair, he’s still getting used to his new shoes. Mommy and I were determined to hide somewhere and let Aidan to put on his own shoes. But to my surprise, one of the older kids just jumped right in and help Aidan putting his shoes on! If every adult and politician can learn from this scene, I’m sure we’ll be living in a MUCH MUCH better world!
OK, that’s it! This is Aidan’s first day of school, which I think is a good day overall (well … you can see his satisfaction with his snack). I pray that Aidan will enjoy his school life from now on, and develop to be a person who can glorify God, even though he will be locked in to school for the next 24 years.
