Apple Fest … A Look in History

How long ago was Apple Fest?  I actually lost count, thanks to my very blessed season of weddings. =)  It’s a long overdue story to tell … but it’s definitely worth telling because …

This is the first Apple Fest where we have a chance to eat BEAVER TAIL!!! muwahahaha …

IMG_20130915135806

And that means perfect chance of messy faces!!!  Look, how prepare mom is, with napkins in a very convenient place. =D

Aidan, make sure you include this in a slideshow when you get married!! =P

And for you too Reily, daddy invested $7.50 for this picture, lol.

Spending time with Chui family is always super fun!  Hi K!! =)

Guys, this WAY WAY better than IPAD!!!  Keep playing until you’re 10!!  That will help you stay outside and be healthy!

Markham Apple Festival

Sometimes it’s just hard to believe temperature can change so quickly.  Three weeks ago, Aidan and Reily were still playing with splash without clothes on.  Today, they’re in jackets!  But that means it’s time for Apples Festival again!

IMG_20120923134751

Well, not a very good start for Reily.  Gosh … such a whiny kid!  But to be honest, with all that meat on his face, it’s still quite cute, for the first few minutes. =P

IMG_20120923134353

And it’s a delight to have our friends with us!

IMG_20120923134432

Aidan does what he does best, snacking!

IMG_20120923135407

Now, he has the right to remain SILIENCE!  But obviously, he’s just going to keep talking!

IMG_20120923135716

The happiest accused ever!

IMG_20120923140845IMG_20120923140358

One of the highlights of the festival, apple peeling ‘the old school’ way!

IMG_20120923141748IMG_20120923141926

This is no doubt Aidan’s favorite event, as he can enjoy the ‘consequence’ later.

IMG_20120923141916

Unlike his brother, who had 2 years experience, this is Reily’s first time doing this.

IMG_20120923142303

Well, technically, this can’t count as his first time, as he’s still too short for it.  So mommy will do the honour this time.

IMG_20120923142407IMG_20120923142408

And he surely enjoys the result!  Gotta love watching a chubby kid enjoying his apple while disregarding everything around him!

IMG_20120923143406

Even when he falls behind!

IMG_20120923143035

A little fun with old school toys!

IMG_20120923144045IMG_20120923143740IMG_20120923144103IMG_20120923144008IMG_20120923144333IMG_20120923144521IMG_20120923145321IMG_20120923145355

And now Aidan’s annual train ride! =)

IMG_20120923152146IMG_20120923152619IMG_20120923152723

I still remember when Aidan had his first train ride alone last year, he was clueless and just sat there without much reaction.  It’s so touching to see so much difference this year!

IMG_20120923152915IMG_20120923153015

I personally love this picture.  Can you count how many things are happening? =)

IMG_20120923153410IMG_20120923154033

And this one on the left … it is taken on the train, one handed, while my other hand was pedalling. =P

IMG_20120923154120IMG_20120923151807

I’m sure we’ll have more fun next year, when Reily is one year older and have more fun! =)

AppleFest from a mom

From a mom addressing to a son ...

... "The AppleFest at Markham Museum was the first of what I hope would be many fall outings of your first year of life.

There were historical buildings to see, apple cidar to drink, apple bread to taste,

miniature choo choo train to ride; too bad you were very sleepy, and were not old enough to enjoy any of these.

But I did take you on that railway cart thingie (that moved by pumping the handle) and your daddy took some pictures of us.

Maybe next year we will go again and you can go on the choo choo and have some fun. I am sure the apple pancakes will taste good too." ...

Well, there's no rehearsal between mommy's journal and daddy's pictures. So don't be surprised if they don't match up exactly. =)

You can enjoy the rest of the album in my FB page, enjoy!
