A Brand New Day

Two weeks just flied by without a trace ... well, except for the photos that I took.

Today is the last day of my 2 weeks 'vacation', without rest or good sleep. Tomorrow daddy will be back to work and it will be another phase of adjustment, which implies the reduction of my photo production. =P

I'll truly miss Aidan's every expression while I'm at work. Although the 2 weeks of vacation is rather tiring, I do enjoy taking pictures of this little baby.

And hopefully mommy can handle everything in my absence during the day, and I wish Aidan will not be too demanding.

The weather forecast says that my area is under snowfall warning, which can have up to 15cm of snow. So who knows, maybe I'll be forced to work at home while listening to Aidan's incredible cries (or enjoying his peaceful sleepy face). =)

If I have to choose the one expression for me to bring back to work tomorrow, I'll definitely choose this one ...

A Day + 11

Administrative day today.

Mommy needs to apply for Employment Insurance today. So Aidan got a chance to have a ride again.

Daddy and mommy also get to enjoy their coffee while Aidan sleep soundly in his rocker.

However, our peaceful coffee break eventually was an illusion for the day. Aidan was super cranky during our sleep time and he constantly wake us up. The following were the last peaceful sleep, good-behaved shot for the rest of the night...

The rest of the night he was like this ...

A Day + 10

Man, I think soon I have to change the subject of Aidan's diary. I'm starting to lose count. =P

Mommy always think that Aidan is close to 11 days old because he was born at the very start of day of the 15th. It must be the 'day inclusiveness' kind of thing. But I'm too tired to think it through and simply want to enjoy my daily photo shoot of Aidan, providing I have enough sleep, of course. =)

The enjoyment of taking pictures and the cuteness of Aidan has seduced me to take 58 shots today! I'm starting to wonder how much shutter life my camera will have left when Aidan is 3 years old, assuming my rate of taking pictures unchanged. =P

Of course I can't post all 58 pictures in one post. So I'll just pick a few of his dreamy journey...

Let the journey begins...

- "Grr... I don't know, don't ask me!"

- "Boo! I'm a cute ghost!"

- "Count me in!" (His elbow looks like 90 years old ... hee hee...)

- "Ladies, look at my muscle!"

And below are some of the pics I took in the evening (wireless flash rocks!!)

I think this is the first portrait where he actually looks at the camera, instead of me moving around catching his eyes. Way to go, Aidan!

He's such a fingers-seeker. =P

Review these pictures really makes me realize how Aidan changes everyday. I'm pretty sure I won't be around to see Aidan gets old. But he actually gave me a snapshot (Thanks Aidan!). =)

And here's "cry of the day"

Aw.... what a jelly face! =D

A Day + 9

We caught Aidan's first smile today! =)

But according to reliable source, baby this young is not capable of smiling and such smiley face usually means ... gas.

And after his satisfying relief, he's back to normal cuteness. =)

Today also marks Aidan detachment of his umbilical cord. Hopefully this is not too gross for the audience (the piece of plastic is the clip that's used when he's born). =P

First jewelery of Aidan. This is from the grannies (daddy's side).

No "cry of the day" today. But "feed of the day" rather. We usually reduce his clothes to keep him awake for the feed. =)

A Day + 8

An OK day, but what a fantastic night we all had!

Aidan slept for 6 straight hours! It's truly a blessing!

When the parents are well rested, baby always look more adorable to them. =)

Daddy usually does most of the feeding during the day. But since he's not feeling too well because of sleep deprivation, mommy have the honor this time (while daddy seize this opportunity to take more pictures).

I'm not sure about other babies, but this one has amazingly many facial expression. And to daddy and mommy's eyes, all these expression are memorable! This series is from mommy's burping. =)

Well, any body parts of Aidan is a good memory for us.

Aidan's other grannies also paid a visit in the evening, with food supply to the parents, of course.

Another family picture of the in-laws.

And today's "cry of the day" is ...

A Day + 7

Aidan is ONE week old, what a milestone! =)

It's a pretty eventful day because we have some relatives visiting us. So Aidan needs to be in top cute condition today, despite his very active crying last night.

First we was grannies visiting in the morning. That's my dad and mom. They've been tremendously helpful during our 1st week of our new life stage. Aidan must thank you his grannies for cooking all the good food for his parents so they can feed Aidan well.

Look, grandpa didn't hold a baby for ... a long time. This little moment should refresh grandpa's baby holding skills. =)

And grannies also didn't waste time to take their own picture so they can satisfy their "Aidan-craving" whenever needed (Man, I always want to take this kind of picture-in-picture =P).

Despite grandma's already big help, she also helped us wash our dishes so we had a few minutes of fun playing with Aidan. Thank you grandma!

In the afternoon, we had 5th auntie come to visit.

And they also gave Aidan (and his parents) a big present, a ROCKER!

This is a very handy bed for both Aidan and us, as we don't need to pick him up as often whenever he cries (This is my wish, actually. =P). Thank you 5th auntie!!

And after all the exciting visits from relatives, both parents and Aidan need to take a nap. Here, you can see a "not as erotic" version of skin-to-skin contact of Aidan and daddy. =)

Note: If you can ignore the fat chin of daddy, you'll have an idea of how small Aidan's head is. I'm amazed when I see this picture and noticed my head is at least 4 times bigger than his. Thank you mommy for taking this picture of us!

And here's Aidan's cry of the day ...
