Silhouette

By definition, a silhouette is a view of a object or scene consisting of the outline and a featureless interior, with the silhouetted object usually being black.

End of day, end of season

I first learn about this when I was reading articles on photography. The article was about how to take emotional pictures and this is one of the techniques introduced in the article. I must admit that when I read about this, I just think of this as "ok, another good technique that I can use". But after I've taken my very first silhouette below, I'm addicted to it! =P

Last shot of the night

I really love the emotion created in this kind of pictures, as the black subjects in the picture will never distract the overall atmosphere (unless of course, the outline of your subject is not well defined. =P).

Cage of mind

I particularly love the above photo. The outline of the chain fence created an awesome pattern in the pictures without distracting the beautiful color of the sky.

To me, silhouette also create a sense of memory. Taking it near golden hour really enhance the effect.

Harmony between species

In this digital age, tweaking the WB is as easy as ever. And you can instantly create different mood on your picture. =)
